Expressive Arts
Expressive Arts gives a voice to our inner wisdom and knowledge through visual art, writing, movement, sound, music, storytelling and drama. This modality allows for safe exploration of our personal experiences and can be used in a variety of ways, on its own or in conjunction with other healing modalities. Some potential uses include pain management, increasing emotional awareness and regulation; healing trauma; repairing relationships; self esteem/image and body image issues, grief, and simply greater self awareness. It is not necessary for the individual to be "good at art" or have any experience with art. The process, as opposed to the end result, is always of primary importance; the art is simply in service of the healing process.
